AI Workflow

I use AI tools to improve my productivity while still keeping a Software Engineer's mindset. Claude Code is my main tool for AI coding, and I use Google Gemini as my rubber duck, bouncing and iterating on ideas. While AI is incredibly helpful, I still go through my own personal AI workflow whenever I build new features. This allows me to build quickly, safely, and efficiently, while still having an understanding on what I'm doing. The following are the different phases I go through when implementing new features.

Apprentice Software Engineer

@ Gridiron Survivor

  • Working with a team to build an AI powered Secret Santa web application.
  • Participating in scrums and sprint planning meetings to understand the Agile workflow
  • Collaborating with other engineers to share knowledge and solve problems in a team environment.
  • Assisting in resolving known issues and writing unit tests for improved code reliability.
  • Gaining hand-on experience with the full development lifecycle, including debugging, testing, and deployment.

Volunteer Software Engineer

  • Worked with a team to convert an existing PHP WordPress site to a React.
  • Converted the existing WordPress endpoints to a PHP RESTful API to be consumed by the React frontend.
  • Reintegrated the existing Google OAuth login to the API.
  • Built a privately signed image upload system with AWS S3 buckets, to allow images to be viewed only by logged in users.
